Robert Sand
Robert Howard Sand (born August 12, 1982) is an American lawyer and politician serving as the 33rd Iowa Auditor of State since 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, he was the Assistant Attorney General of Iowa from 2010 to 2017. In 2018, he ran for state auditor, defeating Republican incumbent Mary Mosiman. After considering a run for governor of Iowa in 2022, Sand opted to run for re-election and was the only Democrat to be elected to a statewide office in Iowa in 2022.
In May 2025, he announced his candidacy for the 2026 Iowa gubernatorial election.
